thebigreveal2018

We have recently heard the very exciting news that 'Voices in the Wilderness' has been shortlisted for the 2025 Music and Drama Education Awards!

Voices in the Wilderness was the third in a series of musical theatre performances, created by David Burridge, Matthew Sharp and Martin Riley and with amazing support and expertise from choreographer, Olivia Duggan, rap artist, Oliver Seager, acting coaches Anita Myer and Hugh Blackwood, artist Nova Marshall and a phenomenal team of incredible teachers and teaching assistants!

Involving students from 13 SEND schools from across Kent, the project was an enormous undertaking with acting, singing, art and dance workshops held to enable the hundreds of children and young people involved in to develop the storylines, choreography, imagery and props themselves.

The final production was a wonderful, uplifting and thoroughly entertaining work involving everything from robot armies to giant, fire-breathing puppets!

In the final performances, the cast were joined by our fabulous Revelation Strings, an orchestra that includes people from all walks of life, some still at school, some talented amateur adult musicians who take time off from their day jobs to be there as well as professional music teachers and internationally renowned performers. All gave their time freely to enable the show to go on!

If you would like to learn more about the work that went on behind the scenes to bring this production to the stage for it's two performances at the Woodville Theatre, Gravesend and the Colyer Fergusson Hall in Canterbury, please click on the link below to see film showing the making of Voices in the Wilderness, filmed and edited by John Coombes.
