The Rosemary Dunn Memorial Concert 2019

An enormous well done to everyone involved in making the 2019 Rosemary Dunn Memorial Concert yet another roaring success! There were some real musical challenges in the repertoire this year but they all came to fruition so beautifully thanks to David's masterful conducting and Matthew's artistic influence along with a fair sprinkling of support behind the scenes from Bridget Burridge and Julia Robinson, who work so tirelessly to make sure everyone is fed, watered, in the right place at the right time and with the right information!

The obvious joy on audience members faces during "The Orange Blossom Special" was very evident and having Canterbury Festival 2018 finalist and Revelation Strings cellist, Philippa Leney, sing "Shenandoah" so beautifully for us was a real treat.

Matthew Sharp's astonishingly powerful rendition of "Soliloquy" from Carousel had the audience staring at each other in open-mouthed wonder and seeing the combined forces of The Big Reveal troops coming together with our visitors from Wickhambreaux CEP School for performances of "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing" and "Ghostbusters" really was the icing on the cake.

There were so many positive responses to the performance and our President, the internationally acclaimed composer, Paul Patterson sent this note after the event...

"Many congratulations for another fantastic concert, the choice of works was brilliant and I loved the orchestrations!

I'm so glad that I was able to join you, it was a wonderful day and hopefully I will be able to come to your show in the summer! "

Congratulations are also due to Samuel Comlay who was announced as this year's winner of the Revellers Award as well as being presented with a certificate, alongside fellow Revellers musicians, Alexandra,Beatrice,Edward and Catherine McCarthy, Rebecca and Molly Kemp-Jones, Holy Eales, Liam Cook and Liam Sutherland in recognition of their five years of music making with The Revellers.

Thanks must also be extended to Kent Community Foundation who sponsored this concert through their Overstone Fund.
